Vision problems may mean higher dementia risk
GeneralVision problems in older adults have been linked to a higher risk of developing dementia, according to a study in JAMA Ophthalmology. Different types of vision problems, such as distance acuity, near acuity, and contrast sensitivity, were found to be associated with a greater prevalence of dementia. Regular eye care, including treating conditions like cataracts, can potentially reduce the risk of dementia.
