Breast cancer is characterized by the presence of different types of cancer in the lobules and ducts of the breast. It can spread to other parts of the body through blood vessels and lymph vessels. Some warning signs of breast cancer include persistent lumps in the breast or underarm, pain and sensitivity, swelling in the armpit or collarbone area, changes in the look and feel of the breast, skin dimpling or orange peel-like appearance, changes in the nipple such as inward pulling, burning, itching, or developing sores, and unusual nipple discharge.
