'Wonder' drug to treat aggressive form of lung cancer promises hope

Researchers at Queen Mary University London have found a new drug, ADI-PEG20, published in JAMA Oncology, that increases survival rates and average survival in cancer patients, specifically targeting pleural mesothelioma caused by asbestos fibers in occupational settings. The drug was tested in the ATOMIC-meso trial. Mesothelioma has one of the lowest survival rates of any cancer.
